أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:‏‏‏‏ فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى سورة النجم آية 9 فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى جِبْرِيلَ وَلَهُ سِتُّ مِائَةِ جَنَاحٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Narrated Ash-Shaibani: I asked Zirr bin Hubaish about the saying of Allah the Might and Sublime: And was a distance of two bow lengths or less (53:9). So he said: 'Ibn Mas'ud informed me that the Prophet (ﷺ) saw Jibra'il, and he had six-hundred wings.'
