حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا غَزَا قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ عَضُدِي،‏‏‏‏ وَأَنْتَ نَصِيرِي،‏‏‏‏ وَبِكَ أُقَاتِلُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ عَضُدِي يَعْنِي عَوْنِي.

Anas narrated that when the Prophet (ﷺ) would go out for an expedition, he would say: “O Allah, You are my `Aḍud and You are my Helper, and by You do I fight (Allāhumma anta `aḍudī, wa anta naṣīrī, wa bika uqātil).”
