وعنه قال‏:‏ أقيمت الصلاة، فأقبل علينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بوجهه فقال‏:‏ ‏"‏أقيموا صفوفكم وتراصوا، فإني أراكم من وراء ظهري‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه البخاري بلفظه، ومسلم بمعناه‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏ وفي رواية للبخاري‏:‏ وكان أحدنا يلزق منكبه بمنكب صاحبه وقدمه بقدمه‏"‏‏.‏

When the Iqamah had been announced, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned his face towards us and said: "Make your rows straight and stand close together, for I can see you from behind my back." [Al- Bukhari].
