وعنه رضي الله عنه قال: كان على ثقل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم رجل يقال له كركرة، فمات، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : "هو في النار" فذهبوا ينظرون إليه فوجدوا عباءة قد غلها” ((رواه البخاري)).
