When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came to Madina, the Abyssinians played for his coming out of joy; they played with spears.

— Narrated Anas bin Malik

Ibn Umar رضی اللہ عنہما heard a pipe, put his fingers in his ears and went away from the road. He said to me: Are you hearing anything? I said: No. He said: He then took his fingers out of his ears and said: I was with the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he heard like this and he did like this. Abu Ali al-Lu'lu said: I heard Abu Dawud say: This is a rejected tradition.

I was sitting behind Ibn Umar on the mount when he passed a shepherd who was blowing a pipe. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition in a similar manner. Abu Dawud said: Between Mutim and Nafi the name of a narrator Sulaiman bin Musa has been inserted.

— Nafi said

An old man who witnessed Abu Wail in a wedding feast, said: They began to play, amuse and sing. A hermaphrodite (mukhannath) who had dyed his hands and feet with henna was brought to the Prophet He asked: What is the matter with this man? He was told: Messenger of Allah! he affects women's get-up. So he ordered regarding him and he was banished to an-Naqi'. The people said: Messenger of Allah! should we not kill him? He said: I have been prohibited from killing people who pray. Abu Usamah said: Naqi' is a region near Madina and not a Baqi'.

The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came upon her when there was with her a hermaohrodite (mukhannath) who said to her brother Abdullah (bin Abi Umayyah): if Allah conquers al-Ta’if for you tomorrow, I shall lead you to a woman who has four folds of fats in front and eight behind. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم cursed the hermaphrodites (mukhannathan) among men and women who imitated men, saying: Put them out of your houses, and put so and so out, that is to say, the hermaphrodites.

When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم arrived after the expedition to Tabuk or Khaybar (the narrator is doubtful), the draught raised an end of a curtain which was hung in front of her store-room, revealing some dolls which belonged to her. He asked: What is this? She replied: My dolls. Among them he saw a horse with wings made of rags, and asked: What is this I see among them? She replied: A horse. He asked: What is this that it has on it? She replied: Two wings. He asked: A horse with two wings? She replied: Have you not heard that Solomon had horses with wings? The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم married me when I was seven or six. When we came to Madina, some women came. according to Bishr's version: Umm Ruman came to me when I was swinging. They took me, made me prepared and decorated me. I was then brought to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he took up cohabitation with me when I was nine. She halted me at the door, and I burst into laughter. Abu Dawud said: That is to say: I menstruated, and I was brought in a house, and there were some women of the Ansari in it. They said: With good luck and blessing. The tradition of one of them has been included in the other.
