أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ. ح وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرَ مَالِ مُسْلِمٍ غَنَمٌ يَتَّبِعُ بِهَا شَعَفَ الْجِبَالِ،‏‏‏‏ وَمَوَاقِعَ الْقَطْرِ يَفِرُّ بِدِينِهِ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ .

The Messenger of Allah [ﷺ] said: 'Soon the best wealth of a Muslim will be the sheep which follows in the mountain peaks and places where rainfall is to be found, fleeing with his religion from the tribulations.'

It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri رضی اللہ عنہ said

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّاةِ الْعَائِرَةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ تَعِيرُ فِي هَذِهِ مَرَّةً وَفِي هَذِهِ مَرَّةً لَا تَدْرِي أَيَّهَا تَتْبَعُ .

The Messenger of Allah [ﷺ] said: The parable of the hypocrite is that of a sheep that hesitates between two flocks, sometimes following one, and sometimes following another, not knowing which to follow.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہما that

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الَّذِي يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ مَثَلُ الْأُتْرُجَّةِ طَعْمُهَا طَيِّبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرِيحُهَا طَيِّبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الَّذِي لَا يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ كَمَثَلِ التَّمْرَةِ طَعْمُهَا طَيِّبٌ وَلَا رِيحَ لَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ الَّذِي يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ كَمَثَلِ الرَّيْحَانَةِ رِيحُهَا طَيِّبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَطَعْمُهَا مُرٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ الَّذِي لَا يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ كَمَثَلِ الْحَنْظَلَةِ طَعْمُهَا مُرٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا رِيحَ لَهَا .

The Prophet [ﷺ] said: 'The parable of the believer who recites the Qur'an is that of a citron, the taste and smell of which are good. The parable of a believer who does not read the Qur'an is that of a date, the taste of which is good but it has no smell. The parable of a hypocrite who reads the Qur'an is that of basil, the smell of which is good but its taste is bitter. And the parable of a hypocrite who does not read the Qur'an is that of a colocynth (bitter-apple), the taste of which is bitter and it has no smell.'

Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari رضی اللہ عنہ said

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لِأَخِيهِ مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ الْقَاضِي يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْكَسَّارِ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الصَّمَدِ الْبُخَارِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الَّذِي يَرْوِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ لَا أَعْرِفُهُ،‏‏‏‏ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ سَقَطَ الْوَاوُ مِنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الرَّبَالِيِّ الْمَشْهُورُ بِالرِّوَايَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْبَصْرِيِّينَ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ذَكَرَهُ فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ فِي حَدِيثِ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ فِي بَابِ صِفَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ سَمِعْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لَا أَعْلَمُ رَوَى حَدِيثَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْمَرْفُوعَ:‏‏‏‏ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ بِزِيَادَةِ قَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَاسْتَقْبَلُوا قِبْلَتَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَكَلُوا ذَبِيحَتَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَصَلَّوْا صَلَاتَنَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ إِلَّا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَحْيَى بْنَ أَيُّوبَ الْبَصْرِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ فِي هَذَا الْجُزْءِ فِي بَابِ مَا يُقَاتِلُ النَّاسَ.

The Prophet [ﷺ] said: None of you has believed until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself. Al-Qadi - meaning 1bn Kassar said: "I heard 'Abdus-Samad Al Bukhari saying: 'Hafs bin 'Umar, the one who reports from 'Abdur Rhman bin Mahd?, I do not know who he is. Unless the Waw was dropped from Hafs bin 'Arm Ar Rabali, the one popular with reporting from the people of Al Basrah, and he is trustworthy.' And he mentioned him in this statement about the Hadith of Mansoor bin Sa'd, in the Chapter: Description Of The Muslim. [ And I heard him say: 'I do not know who reported the Marfu' Hadith of Anas bin Malik: I have been commanded to fight the people - additionally with his statement - and they turn to face the same Qibla as us, they eat our slaughtered animals. and pray as we pray'-reporting it from Humaid Al-Tawil, except for 'Abdullah bin Al-Mubarik and Yahya bin Al-Misri.' And it is in this section, in the Chapter: For What Are The People To be Fought."
